Exam? Not-so-good.

The exam today was particularly hainous.

I know I that I got at least 3 important questions wrong. Some of the others I fumbled my way through. That doesn’t leave very many. But then, the exam was nine pages and seemed to be written in a way meant to confuse and confound. Which it did.

The thing is I know this material. I’ve been doing the readings, I’ve been diligent about the homework. I’m interested in the material and have been attentive in class. However, I have little doubt that this exam will present evidence to the contrary. At 30% of the entire grade, something isn’t right about this. Something seems skewed.

Okay, so I’m not feeling very positive about this test. Worst case scenario: I do terrible on this exam and don’t pass the class. What would that mean? Money down the toilet, loss of faith in the education system, and loss of confidence in my ability to learn. I tell myself the first time I don’t pass a class, my pursuit for my masters is done. I will have lost all faith in the system of education and will turn my back on the entire endeavor.

My wife says I say the same things every time I think I’ve done bad on an assignment or a test. Yet last semester I recieved and A- and a B+. Did I deserve those grades? I have no idea. I was a bit suprised myself. I was so certain that I had bombed many assignments…though not for lack of effort.

I’m trying to learn and these rotten tests are getting in the way.

    Hello from New York. The 503 exam was the hot topic for the 10 hour trip. NYC is crazy. I am exhausted and ready to come home. We are four in a six bunk small bright orange room with a bright apple green tiny bathroom. Cold at night, hot in the day. Noisy. BUT we are in NYC!

    We were saying if we were on vacation somewhere warm (NYC is not) we would be saying, oh darn, it’s already Wednesday. But because we are WORKING here, we are saying: Gee is it only Wednesday!

    DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT TEST. EVERYONE feels the same way. You will not fail this course. Start studying for 502 ( I have not and won’t I can tell, till Sunday)

    I need a vacation from my spring break.
