Pre-class perspective…

I realize it’s been a few days since I’ve posted. You might say I’ve been absorbing the onslaught of information from orientation last week but that is only partly true. It was a long vacation weekend, I worked on various chores around the house and spent some time mentally preparing myself for the start of classes. Part of this preparation was the completion of the reading assignments for this week. The funny thing is, I was fascinated with what I was reading.

Part of the assignment was to read a few chapters in “Avatars…” which I reread and highlighted what I thought were interesting or key aspects of what O’Donnell was saying. The other assignment was to read a couple chapters of “The Social Life of Information” which I found very interesting. My superficial study of buddhism and zen over the last 11 years keeps coming to mind. Many of the aspects of balance combined with an ever present circumstancial pragmatic approach to seeing what’s going on resonates in my mind as I read those chapters. That might be a book that I should add to my collection. Ha. What would O’Donnell say?
